Sea Shipping Guidelines
In comparison to air freight, ocean shipping caters to customers with larger shipment volumes and longer acceptable transit times.
How is ocean shipping billed?
LCL ocean shipping starts at a minimum of 0.3 cubic meters, with an additional RM50 delivery fee for shipments below 1 cubic meter.
Weight limits for ocean shipping:
0.3 cubic meters: 150 kilograms
0.5 cubic meters: 250 kilograms
1 cubic meter: 500 kilograms
Types of ocean shipping:
LCL (Less than Container Load) consolidation (suitable for customers with smaller shipment volumes)
FCL (Full Container Load) (suitable for customers with larger shipment volumes that can fill a 20/40-foot container)
Types of containers:
20-foot containers (typically hold up to 20 tons of cargo with a volume of 28 cubic meters)
40-foot high cube containers (typically hold up to 28 tons of cargo with a volume of 68–72 cubic meters)
Estimated transit time is between 14 to 25 working days, excluding weather, customs inspections, and holiday impacts.
***Singapore Sea shipping does not include a 7% GST (Goods and Services Tax).
Unboxing Guidelines
Actual Weight vs. Volumetric Weight
In the case of no unpacking, the original packaging of goods may be slightly heavier, but it significantly reduces the risk of damage, ensuring efficient protection.
Risk of Loss
If your goods are packed in an unpacked state, any damage to the outer packaging during transportation may result in scattered goods falling off or being easily stolen by third parties without the original packaging for protection. It is difficult for airlines to identify the owner of lost items scattered during customs inspections.
Any party involved will not bear this loss, please be informed.
Risk of Damage
Without original packaging, the risk of goods damage is significantly increased. This is especially true for fragile items such as glassware, ceramics, and tempered film products. Although bubble wrap occupies volume space, it effectively protects the goods. Wrinkles and pressure marks on items like bags, shoes, and bras are common occurrences when unpacked.
Warehouse Handling
To avoid the risk of goods damage, loss, deformation, etc., we strictly adhere to not unpacking any outer packaging for packaging.
